This website had its genesis many years ago. However, the need for it became more apparent in 2016, while we were conducting live classes on Jaiva Dharma. Many who wanted to participate could not do so because of time zone differences, while others had more pressing commitments. For still others, the pace of the class did not suit them.
People learn best in a variety of ways. What works for one does not for another. Some are particularly studious and can move through a syllabus with just a few breaks. Most prefer to move more slowly, intermittently relishing the teachings so they absorb more deeply into their hearts.

Jaivadharma.org will enable students to study Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s exceptional book in whatever way works best for them. It is a self-paced, assisted study course. We believe this will empower students to understand the philosophy and history of Jaiva Dharma. Sweet journeys and teachings are beautifully retold by the Thakura throughout the pages, chapters and divisions of the book. While accompanying 17th century Vaishnavas, readers will discover the bhakti-marg (path of devotion) as taught by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
The duration of the course is up to you, the student. We, the facilitators of the course, are ready to assist you along the way. We have a seniors’ panel to field your questions on WhatsApp, and students can also counsel one another about the chapters they are currently involved in. The forums for these discussions are found in the page blocks entitled “Chapter Discussions” or “Create Blog”. There, you can participate in an existing discussion or initiate a new one. All these discussions are time-delayed, similar to many social media sites. We can also arrange live, online one-to-one and group discussions, according to everyone’s availability.
Our prayer is that students who register for the Full Course will come away with a vastly deepened appreciation for this wonderful book, and for its message to strive for the highest sadhya of nitya-radha-dasya. When one acquires even a tiny droplet of the supreme wealth, one naturally wishes to share it with everyone, and so students may also feel inspired to distribute Jaiva Dharma to the world! This is the ardent wish of Lord Sri Krsna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and is the mano ‘bhista of the guru-parampara in His line, coming to us from Srila Rupa Gosvami. It is also therefore, our wish as well.
